A slosh pipe is a PVC tube partly filled with water and capped at both ends. As the water shifts, your core and stabilizing muscles work hard to keep the pipe level, making even simple lifts more challenging.
How to make one
- Use a sturdy PVC pipe about 2.5 to 3 m long and 10 cm wide.
- Glue a cap on one end, fill it about halfway with water, then cap the other end securely.
- Less water is easier to control at first.
Exercises
| Exercise | Sets x reps |
|---|---|
| Hold and balance (pipe at hip height) | 3 x 30 s |
| Front squat with pipe in rack | 3 x 8 |
| Reverse lunge with pipe on back | 3 x 6 each leg |
| Overhead press | 3 x 8 |
| Bent-over row | 3 x 10 |
| Farmer’s walk holding the pipe level | 3 x 20 m |
Tips
- Move slowly and keep the pipe level.
- Train in open space away from others.
- Check caps before every session.
